About Gary

Gary Drypen, the President of Inland Seas Executive Consulting, Inc. has over 35 years of first hand experience in managerial and executive operational roles in both the manufacturing and distribution industries. After college he began his career in information systems and business systems programming.  He developed and enhanced early MRP and later ERP systems from the ground up. He has held positions in Production Planning, Materials Management, Cost Accounting, Inventory Management and Information Systems in manufacturing companies.  He has been General Manager of operations and later VP of Operations for a large industrial wholesale supplier of MRO items.  He has helped to lead companies out of their “death spiral” and back to profitability by promoting a culture of excellence in customer service, optimizing business practices and setting realistic budgets. He has presented educational seminars on MRP and ERP systems, and addressed numerous user group conventions on the technical aspects of business systems. He was formerly the Director of Education for the Detroit chapter of APICS, The Association for Operations Management, formerly the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
